About Matthew

Matthew Lee has worked with small, medium and large oil and gas companies in certain phases of the energy and oil and gas industry, primarily focusing on title work. He has worked on litigation of landowner and royally owners’ demands, matters involving gas contracts, oil, gas and mineral leases, development of oil and gas leases and title issues, and disputes concerning environmental damages to property. He has worked in insurance defense litigation and a variety of corporate defense litigation. He has also handled trademark and copyright filings.

 

Matthew has experience in title examination in Louisiana on behalf of major companies, having rendered preliminary title opinions and supplemental title opinions. He has worked on numerous lawsuits involving royalty demands, among other oil, gas and mineral issues. He has also handled filings and renewals for trademarks and copyrights.

 

Matthew also completed the Civil Mediation Clinic at the Paul M. Hebert Law Center, LSU (2016). 
Matthew represents numerous oil and gas industry clients in connection with title examination, contractual issues, litigation and negotiations of numerous oil and gas related issues, including landowner claims for royalty payments, demands for release of leases, disputes among royalty owners, transportation and gathering costs and other matters;

 

Matthew represents corporate and individual clients in filing and maintaining trademarks and copyrights, including responses to USPTO Office Actions.
