Brodie draws on a wide range of experience to provide clients with creative solutions to their legal problems. Prior to his legal career, he worked in the oil and gas industry, overseeing the design, building, testing, and maintenance of instrumentation and electrical systems for offshore and onshore production facilities. He relies on this hands-on technical background to successfully navigate the most technologically complex cases and handles all aspects of civil litigation in the areas of oil, gas, and energy, toxic torts, property law, succession litigation, and creditor/debtor rights.
Represented a corporate landowner in the $30,500,000.00 sale of its property to a state political subdivision.
Defended an independent oil and gas exploration and production company in several legacy cases and one coastal erosion suit.
Defended a Louisiana landowner against a condemnation action brought by the federal government on behalf of the state of Texas.
Defended a property owner against a class action brought by more than 1,000 plaintiffs alleging exposure to toxic chemicals.
Successfully pursued a breach of contract / open account action, while defeating the defendant’s $1,000,000.00 counterclaim.
Handled numerous mineral royalty disputes for a royalty management company.
Defended numerous contractors against claims brought for defective construction.
Secured numerous oilfield creditors’ rights by utilizing the Louisiana Oil Well Lien Act and the Private Works Act.
